The Elijah List Fallacy

I went to the Elijah List website and contacted them about submitting a word. If you are not familiar with this site, it is a site where prophetic words are posted. They sent me back an email stating word for word the following:

3) Words from anyone that has never had a word published on The Elijah List must always be accompanied by a short bio of the person writing the article submitted (no more than one paragraph). Again, do not use  attachments.                                 4) A name or names of who you are associated with or related to in ministry. We don’t normally consider for publication any word by a person who has built no relationships with others in prophetic ministry. In other words, we look for those who involve themselves with team ministry, joint accountability, etc. If someone can vouch for the accuracy of given words, that’s even better. With over 115,000 subscribers and 21,000+ Facebook readers receiving this daily word, we must be cautious to post only the “best of the best” words that have been tried and tested by others.

I only listed the third and fourth points; because that is the important part I will be talking about here.

What does God’s word say about giving prophetic words? “Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. If anything be revealed to another that sits by, let the first hold his peace. For you may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be comforted.        (1 Cor.  14:29-31).

God’s method of having prophetic words delivered is for everyone who has a word to be allowed to give it. The word is what is judged. However, at the Elijah List, it is the prophet who is judged rather than the word. This is contrary to the Word of God and gives Satan a foothold to manipulate things. And guess what: Satan has manipulated things. Who would have thought of such a thing?

You might ask how he has manipulated things. The answer is very simple. On that site various words are given. However, there are multiple words that speak of God blessing America in these next few years and there are words that say God is judging America. These two words are contrary to each other and cannot coexist. Someone has to be wrong. God cannot bless that which is cursed. Either America is under God’s blessings, or it is under his curses. There is no gray area.

What does God’s word say? (I will shorten it a great deal here, but you can read about being under the curses on my blog piece entitled, “The United States Under the Curse.”) The Word says,  “But it shall come to pass, if you will not hearken to the voice of the Lord your God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes, which I command you this day; that all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you: cursed shall be your basket and store (your economic situation)…the stranger shall lend to you, and you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head and you shall be the tail. (Deut. 28:15, 17, 44).

Today, the United States is the greatest debtor nation in the world. We used to be the lender. Our economic situation is bad and not really improving. When did this all occur? Starting in the fall of 2008 our economy turned down and has stayed there. Of course we have gradually become more and more in debt over a longer period of time, but now we are truly in a very critical situation with our debt. Does this sound like we are under God’s blessings? Not according to Deuteronomy 28: we are under God’s curses. So who do you believe when you read someone’s prophecy at the Elijah List website? See how Satan has manipulated things. He brings confusion and waters down God’s words. The Elijah List in trying to be so careful about choosing the best prophets has succeeded in not only not getting the best of the best, but has watered down God’s warning to us about what is headed our way in this country.

In my book God speaks to America and says, “Take the blinders off your eyes, America, and begin to weep and mourn over my judgment to come. I have removed my presence from you, and with the absence of my presence comes my wrath…I have constantly from your founding to this day commanded you to observe my laws, and yet after all my blessings on this country I have been ignored. Everyone in this country pursues all the evil he can produce from his own heart. Because you have done this, then I must remove my blessings from this nation and release my curses upon it.”

Do you see that from that last sentence how blessings and curses cannot coexist? Once again, God cannot bless that which is cursed. God can only bless the nation that follows his commandments. The United States is hardly following God’s commandments with the murdering of unborn babies and taking prayer out of the schools and such like. God tolerated it for a while but has said the day of reckoning is here.

This is what God says regarding the prophets prophesying peace and good times for America. “Therefore, do not listen to those who prophesy peace and good times for America—they are speaking a lie. I did not send them to speak. They are getting you to believe a lie so that you will be scattered and removed from this land with those deceitful prophets.” This is the crux of the matter. False words are being spoken on the Elijah List and thus the Elijah List has maneuvered itself into falling under God’s wrath for watering down his word. God will not tolerate the watering down of his word when he is bringing judgment. The Elijah List is doing this. Just read the book of Jeremiah to get a feel of how much God speaks about watering down his words of warning.

Matthew 24:24-28 says, “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say to you, ‘Behold he is in the desert;’ go not forth: ‘Behold, he is in the secret chambers;’ believe it not. For as the lightning comes out of the east and shines to the west; so shall the coming of the Son of man be. For wherever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together.” Let us substitute vultures for eagles here to better understand what is said. We all know how vultures fly over head when something is dead or dying on the ground. This verse is saying we should look for the signs (like vultures flying over a carcass) to determine if a prophetic word is correct or not. If there are no signs, then those prophets are false prophets.

There are no signs of America moving into blessings from God. The signs we are under his curses are obvious for all to see. Who then is right? Is it the prophets like me or the prophets prophesying blessings for America? God does bless his children in times like these, but when we are talking about the whole country, then it is a totally different matter. So, the Elijah List has failed to do the job God requires of it. It has strayed from the Word of God and produced an elitist sort of clientele it allows on its site to give words and ignored people with no prophetic ministry ties; judging them as unreliable. Who are they to judge who is unreliable? God knows who is and is not, and that is why he spelled out in 1 Corinthians 14 that the word should be judged and not the prophet.

Jeremiah, you’ve hit on something here, but it is only the tip of the iceberg. I have first hand knowledge of what goes on, because I worked for them for 7 years.

If you want to read my account of what went on at the Elijah List and how it affected me you can go here: http://www.honorokfings.org/elijahlist/

Many blessings to you and yours,

  2. It’s O . K .. You can be a facebook star =)

    • If only that would be true. With a grand total of 9 people following me on Facebook, I am not reaching this nation. Unless people start telling other people and they in turn start telling other people and so on, this nation can then only be reached by a major disaster. We would have a better chance to change things in this country if more people knew before any disaster occurs.
