An Ezra Type Repentance

December 7, 2009

In Matthew 15, a Canaanite woman approached Jesus to ask healing for her daughter from a demon.  Jesus told her, “It is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and cast it to the dogs.”  The woman answered, “That is true, my Lord, but yet the dogs eat of the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”  Jesus impressed with her faith said, “O woman, great is your faith: so be that desire you request from me.”

It is through the Christian blessings have filled the American society.  Our land was founded by people who came here to worship God and find his will for our lives.  God blessed us and this nation because our ancestors came here to serve him and place him as the head of this land.  As a result, not only have Christians received blessings from God throughout these centuries, but the dogs in this story (the unbelievers) have reaped the blessings of God by just being here in this country.

Why then have our blessings ceased?  You ask, when have they ceased?  It is hard to tell over the course of a year or two to tell if God’s blessings have ceased for our country, but God says through his prophets as expressed in the book “Jeremiah’s Prophecies: The End of the United States” that he will not bless this nation anymore.  So, why have our blessings ceased or maybe, why are they on the verge of ceasing?  They are on the verge because we have as Christians abandoned God and let the wicked take control of this country.  We have remained silent and let the wicked remove prayer from our schools, take God out of the public arena, and let things like abortion and homosexuality flood our society.  God loves the homosexual, but that lifestyle destroys lives and leads to death.  It is a cancer that will grow and grow until the family, the framework of our society is destroyed.  No nation can stand when the family structure is destroyed.

The Christian must repent now or as promised in “Jeremiah’s Prophecies: The End of the United States,” our country will face a violent end with much destruction and every life in this country affected by what will soon come to pass.  The Christian must turn from his sin and stop being indifferent to what is going on around him or her.

In the book of Ezra, it is recounted how Israel avoided facing God’s wrath yet again, although they had only briefly and partially been restored to their land.  The people had begun marrying those who were not Jews.  This would lead the people into sin once again and abandoning God which led to their fall in the first place.  Everyone who had married someone who was not a Jew had to come to Jerusalem to set up an appointment to have all such marriages annulled.  Do you know how hard it is to do such a thing as this.  Are you ready as a Christian to part from that one sin (or partner so to speak) that keeps you from repenting to be ready to follow God and carry out his will in your life and your family’s life.  It is going to take that kind of repentance to save this country.  If we continue to reelect the wicked to rule for whatever reason, (ignore their promises) then God’s judgment cannot be avoided for this country.
